Suri Noelle Legally Drops Tom Cruise's Last Name in Official Records
Showbiz Reporter Staff
Suri Noelle, the daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, has legally changed her last name from Cruise to Noelle, according to voter registration records. The change comes after she began college and follows her decision to use Noelle during her 2024 high school graduation.
Suri Registers to Vote Under Her New Name
The 20-year-old college student is currently attending Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Public voter registration records from Allegheny County show she registered to vote during her freshman year in October 2024 under the name Suri Noelle.
The new surname carries family significance. Noelle is Katie Holmes' middle name, making the change a personal connection to her mother's side of the family.
Graduation Offered the First Public Hint
Before the legal change became publicly known, Suri had already chosen to go by Suri Noelle during her 2024 high school graduation, leaving out the Cruise surname from the ceremony's official listing.
The move drew attention at the time, but newly confirmed voter registration records indicate that the name change has since become official.
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' Family Timeline
Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes welcomed their only child, Suri, in April 2006. The couple married later that year in November before ending their marriage in 2012.
Since the divorce, Holmes has largely raised Suri away from the public spotlight while the young student has continued pursuing her education at Carnegie Mellon University.
