Nicola Peltz Beckham's Parents Sued in Second Dog Attack Lawsuit Over Rescue Dog
Nicola Peltz Beckham's parents, Claudia and Nelson Peltz, are facing another legal battle after a woman filed a lawsuit alleging their rescue dog attacked her inside the family's home in December 2025.
Lawsuit Alleges Rescue Dog Had a History of Aggressive Behavior
Court documents state that Joy Ransom filed the lawsuit on July 10, seeking $50,000 in damages. She claims she was attacked by the Peltz family's rescue dog, Houdini, while working at the family's residence preparing holiday gifts on Dec. 23, 2025.
According to the complaint, Nicola Peltz Beckham, 31, was present when the alleged incident occurred.
Ransom alleges the family already knew Houdini had a history of aggressive behavior before the attack. The lawsuit further claims the dog had never received K-9 or behavioral training despite allegedly being prone to attacking people.
Complaint Claims Dog Was Not Restrained
The lawsuit alleges Houdini was not under any form of restraint or control inside the home when the incident took place.
Ransom also states she was not responsible for causing the incident and claims she suffered injuries that required medical treatment, resulting in medical expenses and other damages. She is seeking compensation totaling $50,000.
Second Legal Action in Two Years
The newly filed complaint marks the second dog attack lawsuit in two years involving Claudia and Nelson Peltz and their rescue dog, Houdini.
Among the allegations, Ransom claims the family failed to report the dog's alleged dangerous tendencies to the appropriate authorities despite being aware of its behavior before the December 2025 incident.
The lawsuit outlines Ransom's claims, and the allegations have not been proven in court. Any response from Claudia and Nelson Peltz or their legal representatives had not been included in the available court filings at the time of publication.
