Showbiz Reporter Staff
Nathan James has confirmed that his father, Bill McGinley, was found dead after disappearing during a routine bike ride in Louisville, Colorado, bringing a heartbreaking end to the family's search.
Nathan James shared the devastating news in an emotional Instagram video on July 31, revealing that authorities had located the body of his 72-year-old father, Bill McGinley, days after he failed to return from what was described as a normal morning bike ride.
"The police found him earlier this afternoon today and he is no longer with us. R.I.P. to my dad. He was my best friend. I love him."
The independent metal musician spoke openly about the emotional toll of the past several days, describing the experience as unlike anything he had ever endured. He said learning that his father was missing, only to later discover he had died, had been incredibly difficult to process.
Search Ends in Tragedy
Authorities confirmed that Bill McGinley was found on a bike trail in the Coyote Run Open Space area of Louisville, Colorado.
The Boulder County Coroner's Office confirmed that McGinley was discovered on July 30 after an extensive search. Police also announced they were no longer requesting public assistance in locating him, although the investigation remains active.
Earlier in the week, Nathan James had urged followers to help find his father after he failed to return from his routine cycling trip. He shared photos of McGinley and details about the white gravel bicycle he had been riding when he disappeared.
Nathan James Pays Tribute to His Father
During his emotional video message, James thanked everyone who helped search for his father and asked for privacy as he mourns the loss.
He also encouraged fans to appreciate their loved ones while they can.
"Don't forget to tell the people you love that you respect them, that you're there for them. My dad has gone home upstairs, and I love you, Dad."
Bill McGinley was previously a professor at Colorado State University and was remembered by his son as both a father and his closest friend.
Investigation Continues
While authorities have confirmed Bill McGinley's death, officials have not publicly released additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation remains ongoing as law enforcement and the Boulder County Coroner's Office continue their work.
