Spider-Man: Brand New Day Sets All-Time Middle East Box Office Record
Spider-Man: Brand New Day has made box office history after earning a record-breaking $18.4 million during its opening weekend across the Middle East, becoming the region's biggest film debut ever.
Record-Breaking Opening Across The Middle East
Spider-Man: Brand New Day delivered an unprecedented $18.4 million opening weekend across the Middle East, setting a new all-time regional box office record.
The United Arab Emirates led the market with $7.4 million, while Saudi Arabia followed with $5.4 million. The film also attracted record audiences in Egypt, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman.
The latest installment outperformed previous Spider-Man releases in the region. Spider-Man: Homecoming opened with $5 million in 2017, Spider-Man: Far From Home earned $7 million in 2019, and Spider-Man: No Way Home debuted with $15 million.
Dubai Promotion Helped Build Massive Buzz
The regional launch on July 30 was accompanied by a large-scale promotional campaign in Dubai.
A stunt performer dressed as Spider-Man climbed the Dubai Frame, followed by a spectacular drone show that celebrated the film's arrival and generated excitement among fans across the city.
Empire Entertainment President Mario Haddad Jr. said the record-breaking performance reflects the growing popularity of theatrical moviegoing throughout the Middle East.
He also noted that Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks the 10th Spider-Man film distributed by the company across the region, highlighting the franchise's enduring appeal with audiences of all ages.
Global Success Matches Regional Momentum
The impressive Middle East results come as the superhero blockbuster continues to perform strongly worldwide.
The film opened with an estimated $355 million across the United States and Canada, while its global opening weekend reached approximately $927 million, making it the second-biggest worldwide opening weekend in cinema history.
The historic debut reinforces Spider-Man's status as one of the world's most successful film franchises while giving the latest installment another major milestone during its theatrical run.
