Magnus Ferrell Talks Viral Hit 'Asleep Talking' and Life Beyond Will Ferrell's Shadow

Will Ferrell's son Magnus Ferrell is enjoying a breakthrough moment as his single "Asleep Talking" gains momentum on social media, earns a spot on the Billboard charts, and attracts support from major celebrities.

'Asleep Talking' Becomes an Unexpected Viral Hit

The 22-year-old singer released the soulful track earlier this year, but its popularity surged after Will Ferrell featured it during an appearance on Michelle Obama's IMO podcast.
Magnus revealed that his father told him he planned to share the song with the former First Lady, though he completely forgot about the conversation until the episode aired.
"When it came out, my phone just started blowing up," Magnus recalled, describing the experience as both exciting and surreal.

Celebrity Support Pushes the Song Even Further

Since the podcast appearance, Asleep Talking has continued to gain attention across social media platforms.
Celebrities including Khloe Kardashian, Charlie Puth, Heidi Klum and Ty Dolla $ign have publicly praised the track, introducing Magnus' music to even wider audiences.
"It's been like this weird dream," Magnus said. "It doesn't feel real, but then it does at the same time. It's just crazy."

Building His Own Identity in Music

Although many people recognize Magnus because of his famous father, the rising artist is focused on establishing himself through his music.
His growing fan base and chart success suggest listeners are connecting with the emotional songwriting and soulful sound behind Asleep Talking, giving him momentum as he continues to pursue his own career.
The recent wave of attention marks the biggest moment of Magnus Ferrell's young career, with the singer calling the past few weeks "the greatest two, three weeks of my entire life."
